چکیده

Background Late Gadolinium Enhancement (LGE) allows imaging of infarction by visualizing the accumulation of contrast agent within the myocardium using an inversion recovery (IR) prepared sequence. However, myocardial hyperenhancement can sometimes be poorly detected in the vicinity of epicardial fat because both fat and hyperenhanced tissue appear bright. Thus, a method for fat signal suppression is desired. One previous approach to fatsuppressed LGE was to null fat signal with appropriately timed tip-up/tip-down fat-selective RF pulses [1], but this technique can leave residual fat signal in the image due both to sensitivity to off-resonance and timing requirements to achieve fat nulling. The goal of the present work is to achieve more complete and robust fat suppression by introducing a Phase-Sensitive ChEmical Selection (PiSCES) method that combines phase-sensitive (PS) image reconstruction [2] with customized timing of fatselective RF pulses.

Efficient fat suppression by slice-selection gradient reversal in twice-refocused diffusion encoding

Most diffusion imaging sequences rely on single-shot echo-planar imaging (EPI) for spatial encoding since it is the fastest acquisition available. However, it is sensitive to chemical-shift artifacts due to the low bandwidth in the phase-encoding direction, making fat suppression necessary. Often, spectral-selective RF pulses followed by gradient spoiling are used to selectively saturate the fa...

Free-breathing combined three-dimensional phase sensitive late gadolinium enhancement and T1 mapping for myocardial tissue characterization.

PURPOSE To develop a novel MR sequence for combined three-dimensional (3D) phase-sensitive (PS) late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) and T1 mapping to allow for simultaneous assessment of focal and diffuse myocardial fibrosis. METHODS In the proposed sequence, four 3D imaging volumes are acquired with different T1 weightings using a combined saturation and inversion preparation, after administra...

Wavelength region selection and spectrophotometric simultaneous determination of naphthol isomers based on net analyte signal

Naphthol isomers were simultaneously and spectrophotometrically determined in wastewater, using a model based on net analyte signal (NAS). The calibration method used is a variation of the original hybrid linear analysis method as proposed by Goicoechea and Olivieri (HLA/GO). Owing to spectral interferences, the simultaneous determination of mixtures of naphthol isomers, using a spectrophotomet...

Robust fat saturation applied to late enhancement

Background Late Gadolinium Enhancement (LGE) allows imaging of infarction and cardiomyopathies by measuring the accumulation of contrast agent within the myocardium. The shortened T1 relaxation time compared to healthy myocardium is imaged by an inversion recovery (IR) prepared segmented fast gradient echo sequence in which pathology and fat show as bright signal. The fat signal can lead to mis...

A New Control Method for Single-Phase Grid-Connected Inverter Using Instantaneous Power Theory

Because of installation for local consumers and since it is free of all contaminations, connecting photovoltaic cells to the grid via single-phase inverter is significantly on the rise. In this paper, a new simple current control is proposed for a single-phase grid-connected voltage source inverter. Using the PQ theory and modelling a single-phase system as an unbalanced three-phase system, a m...
